Ben Irvine was born in Australia but he grew up in North East London. He attended the University of Durham and Cambridge University, where he completed a PhD in Philosophy.
Nowadays Ben works as a delivery driver to fund his writing. Describing himself as a ‘recovered philosopher’, he wants to make philosophy less about obsessing over imaginary problems and more about reflecting on how to live a good life in the real world.
Ben was founding editor of two publications: the Journal of Modern Wisdom and Cycle Lifestyle. As an offshoot of this last project, Ben is running the London Cycle Map Campaign, which is lobbying for a single, Tube-style map and network of cycle routes in the British capital.
